Dramatic.
The rest of this post isn't.
So half of the holidays are done and I still haven't anything of note, apart from my overnight excursion with friends at New Lynn, and during that fateful night we founded...
The Western Gentry!
Although we only consist of 2 scrawny white boys, a Canadian and an Asian, we are proud to be those whom are members of this Western Gentry.
Needless to say were all atheists (unless I've been misinformed about the Canadian)
Anyway, I'm going to try give this blog some purpose, try keep up regular posts (Can I do it?) and put somethings of actual interest in it.
Step one of this plan is revamping the look of the blog, no more generic same old same old colour scheme. I shall continue to tweak the layout and colours, and I may even add a background Image, I just need some thing that won't make ones eyes bleed.
As for the interesting stuff, that would be me talking (how interesting) about things like Religion, Team Fortress 2, etc (I'm out of ideas already.)
I will also post anything I manage to write (storys, essays, etc) on my writing blog
Needless to say I'm going to try do something productive with these last 6 days, starting with that blog background, ideas and suggestions are welcome.
Ok, time for Ye old block of text, AKA My thoughts on Team Fortress 2's latest update (Hopefully I have a few readers out there who actually play this awesome game)
Well Valve has been hard at work, hyping up the community with their latest troll, The 100 Golden Wrenches. Now these wrenches are no different the the engineers normal wrench, except for the fact that their gold, and when you club someone to death with them, the unfortunate turns to solid gold, rather then another generic rag doll. Apart from this, the wrench has nothing, just the Midas Touch.
One could find a wrench when crafting anything. How ever, the finding of these wrenches was anything but random. Unknown to the vast masses, these wrenches were being dropped on predetermined times, to whomever was lucky enough to be crafting at that moment.
Discovering this, several people, including the famous Drunken F00l. Needless to say these people were vac banned and their wrenches returned to the drop system.
But enough about this wrench, onto the REAL update.
So over 4 days (with every 25 wrenches dropped) the engineer update was slowly revealed. 3 Maps (Pl_Thundermountion, Pl_Upward, Plr_2tower) and 4 Weapons.
The weapons being the Frontier Justice (Shotgun Replacement), The Wrangler (Pistol Replacement), The Gunslinger (Wrench Replacement) and The Southern Hospitality (Wrench Replacement.)
The Frontier Justice is a shotgun replacement with:
- No Random Crits
- A 50% smaller magazine (only 3 bullets in a mag)
- Revenge Granted Crits Upon Sentry Destruction (Either from enemy interaction or you blowing it up)
So what are revenge crits? Well when your sentry gets kills and assists, it builds up crits for use with the Frontier Justice.
1 kill gives you 2 crits.
1 assist, only 1.
KEEP IN MIND, YOU ONLY GET CRITS IF YOUR SENTRY HAS MADE A KILL OR ASSIST.
And one more thing, revenge crits have a max of 35.
The Wrangler is a pistol replacement
When in use (you have it out):
- Your Sentry gains a shield (lowers taken damage by 66%)
- You gain control of your sentry, using the Wrangler as a laser pointer which your sentry aims at (You also control when it shoots)
- Sentry's fire rate is doubled
- When you switch out of the wrangler your sentry shuts down for 2 seconds, rendering it vulnerable to any enemy attacks.
The Gunslinger is a wrench replacement and a hand replacement.
The Engineer's hand is replaced with a cybernetic version.
- +25 health
- No random crits
- Guaranteed crits on 3rd hit (Hold down mouse1 and your 3rd swing with crit, only if the first 2 connected with an enemy though)
- Allows the Engineer to drop 'Mini Sentrys'
Mini sentrys are level one sentrys, with a small light on top (team coloured), A doubled firing rate, and a 4x build rate.
They cannot be upgraded, and only cost 100 metal to build.
The Southern Hospitality is a wrench replacement.
(Can be made with Ambassador + Scrap Metal)
- No random Crits
- 20% vulnerability to fire when wielded
- 5 second bleed upon hit.
The update also gave the Engineer the ability to pick up his buildings, and carry then around the battle field (with a reduced walking speed.)
However, if killed when carrying a building, the building will also be destroyed along with the Engy carrying it.
Along with all these Engy buffs, we have also had some kill icons added! A new one for death by bleeding (Tribalman's Shiv + Southern Hospitality), one for the FAN and one for Natasha. The poor back burner has yet to receive one.
Well this update has been a fun one, Engys galore, as far as the eye can see.
Every server had at least 5 Engineers, and Hi Jinks ensued.
The Engineer has become slightly more.. aggressive. His new Shotgun and mini sentry allow for more offensive pushes, while the wrangler allows for greater defense.
The mini sentry doesn't cope well with the Wrangler, as a 4x fire rate uses up ammo in a flash, and the sentrys low health doesn't put the shield to great use.

Wow, long post IS long.
Thanks for reading (At least I hope you did)
As always, comment, rate, follow
Farewell!
